Cassandra "Cassie" Tran

Associate — Harmssen LaPointe P.C

Cassie was born and raised in Northern California. After completing undergraduate studies at Arizona State University and removing “it’s just a dry heat” from her lexicon, she returned to her home state to pursue a dual degree in law and business, earning a JD/MBA from Santa Clara University.

Cassie successfully represents employers before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), California Department of Industrial Relations, California Civil Rights Department (CRD), and other federal, state, and administrative agencies throughout the country. In addition, Cassie defends employers in litigation, drafts pleadings and motions, responds to attorney demand letters and administrative audits, revises employee handbooks, drafts arbitration and severance agreements, negotiates settlements, and develops employment policies to assist her clients with legal compliance. Cassie showcases her superior design esthetic and talents while developing topical (and entertaining) employment law trainings for her clients.

Prior to joining Harmssen LaPointe, Cassie worked for a reputable law firm specializing in sports law in which she handled complex intellectual property and transactional matters.

After gaining exposure to employment law through drafting whistleblower and grievance policies for sports organizations and handling wage claims brought by athletes, she became intrigued by the high-stakes and incredible complexities presented by employment law and made the leap without looking back.

Outside of the office, Cassie is a swim coach who is passionate about mentoring young athletes. In her free time, she also loves spending time with her large, close-knit family. She is an avid traveler and culinary enthusiast, eager to explore all cultures and cuisines. Cassie is an active member of the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Silicon Valley and the Sports Lawyers Association.
